On Fire TV, no. Once a skip list is on the TV, the companion app runs it on its own — your kids can start the movie themselves and the scenes are still skipped. On Roku and Samsung TVs there's no companion app to hold the list, so your phone runs the skips live while the movie plays.
Amazon Fire TV has full support, including phone-free skipping. Roku and Samsung are in beta, using standard mode — your phone guides the skips during playback, and timing is still being tuned per service. Google TV, Chromecast, and NVIDIA Shield are coming soon.
Scene Skipper controls playback in the streaming app you already use, with your own subscription. It doesn't provide any video itself, and you'll need an active subscription to whatever you're watching.
You get 7 days free, with no credit card and nothing to cancel. When the trial ends, Scene Skipper simply stops skipping scenes — your saved lists stay exactly where they are and start working again the moment you unlock.
No. Scene Skipper is a one-time purchase of $24.99 that covers your whole household. Everyone's phone is a free remote for the TVs you've unlocked — there's no per-person or per-phone charge.
No. One purchase covers the household. Share your join code from Settings, and they enter it when setting up their phone — no second purchase.
Not without your PIN. Turning protection off on the TV, or disabling it from a phone, requires the parental PIN you set during setup.
Tap "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and we'll email you a one-time code to reset it. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email support@sceneskipper.com.
Check that the TV is on and that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. If the TV recently restarted, open the Scene Skipper app on your phone again and it will reconnect. If it still won't connect, you can forget the TV in Settings and pair again — your skip lists aren't lost.
You can delete your account from Settings in the app, or email support@sceneskipper.com and we'll do it for you. See our privacy policy for exactly what's removed.
