Scene Skipper

Skip the scenes you don't want your kids to see.

Mark a scene once on your phone. Scene Skipper skips it automatically on your TV — every time that movie plays, without anyone hovering over the remote.

7 days free — no credit card required.

Set it once. It just works.

Most filtering means someone has to be in the room, thumb on the remote, already knowing what's coming. Scene Skipper turns that into something you do once, in advance, on your own time.

Frame-accurate skipping

On supported TVs, Scene Skipper reads the exact playback position and jumps straight past the scene. No guessing, no fast-forward overshoot.

Works without your phone

On supported services, once a list is on the TV it runs on its own. The kids can start the movie and the scenes are still skipped — no phone in the room required.

Skip or mute

Cut a scene entirely, or just mute the audio for language while the picture keeps playing. Your call, scene by scene.

Locked with a PIN

Turning protection off requires your parental PIN. Kids can't quietly switch it back off.

Shared lists

Import a list another parent already built instead of scrubbing through the movie yourself — or publish your own.

Nothing tracked

We don't collect your viewing history, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. See our privacy policy.

How it works

  1. Install the free companion app on your TV. It shows a QR code on screen.
  2. Scan the code with your phone. That's the whole setup — the TV activates, your phone connects, and your PIN syncs in one step.
  3. Mark the scenes. Note the start and end time of anything you want skipped or muted, or import a list someone else already made.
  4. Send it to the TV. From then on, that movie plays with those scenes skipped — whether or not your phone is in the room.

Supported devices

Scene Skipper works best on Android-based TV devices, where a small companion app can read the exact playback position and seek precisely.

DeviceModeStatus
Amazon Fire TV (Stick, Cube, built-in Fire TVs) Precision — frame-accurate, runs without your phone on supported services Available
Google TV / Android TV / NVIDIA Shield Precision Coming soon
Roku / Apple TV / Samsung Standard — phone-guided skipping during playback Coming soon

Standing guards, allowed-title lists, and phone-free operation require the TV companion app, which today means Fire TV. On standard-mode devices your phone runs the skips live while the movie plays.

One purchase covers your household

Scene Skipper is a one-time purchase of $24.99 — not a subscription. It covers your family: everyone's phone is a free remote for the TVs you've unlocked.

Try it free for 7 days first. No credit card, nothing to cancel — if you do nothing when the trial ends, it simply stops skipping and your saved lists stay put.

How Scene Skipper plays your movies

It doesn't. Scene Skipper is a remote control: it sends play, pause, and seek commands to your streaming app, playing your own subscription on your own TV. We never copy, store, decrypt, or re-stream any video or audio — we only ever store timestamps you write down. Nothing is altered or saved; the scene simply isn't shown in your living room.
